Vera Alice Kerr Remington

Vera Alice Kerr was the sixth child to be born to Marion Joseph Kerr and  Ella Rebecca Merrill Kerr. She was born on October 8, 1891 in Richmond, Utah.  Her family moved to Ora. Idaho while she was a small child. She was educated there and later attended Ricks Academy at Rexburg, Idaho.

 

On December 19, 1912 she was married Elwin Jackson Remington. They have lived in Portland, Oregon for many years. Their three children also live in Portland. They are Dorm, Eva and Grant.

 

Dorm has a married daughter and two unmarried son who have recently returned from military duty.  Eva's eldest son lives in Seattle. two daughters live in Portland and youngest son, Elwin, is in college.

 

Grant is the bishop of the Portland First Ward and has a married daughter, Judy Gaul, and three children who live near Chicago.

 

Vera sent in the following report about her family.  The only things that have happened in our family since last year are: A baby girl, Stephanie Lynn Gaul was born April 13, 1972 in Chicago. Another baby girl, Anne Julene Burton was born June 15, 1972 in Portland. David, Grant's son, was married Ju1y 11, 1972 to Edith Wood.

 

Vera also noted that Grant is running for the State Senate as a Republican.  Vera has undergone surgery on her hip which has caused her considerable suffering.
